Health, Safety and Environment

Health, Safety & Environment –Since its inception, Isolation Equipment Services has emphasized the need to protect all workers and the environment. Safety is a culture at IES and it emanates from the president down to the newest worker. IES has made advancements in the Safety department that continue to show results and promote the evolution of the safety culture. All IES staff members recognize the importance of a solid safety program. We strive to enable all workers and the general public to coexist in an environment that promotes protections for humans, wildlife and the lands that we work on. Thanks to the willingness of our staff to participate in our safety culture, we have an excellent relationship with the governing bodies for the jurisdictions that we perform work. IES workers have participated in the development of safety programs long before it was deemed a worker right.

Some of the highlights of the IES safety program are:

  • Handsfree program to promote hand safety – The program has policy, procedure, PPE and internally developed and manufactured “Hands Free Tools” to avoid pinch points
  • B.C. recognized “Temporary Line Restraint” program that conforms to all BC 23.69 legislation. Complete with in-house trainers, quality control and inspection.
  • Geotrac fleet management system that records and reports driver’s activity, location and history of travel. This system gives in route warnings in the event the driver deviates from the rules of the road.
  • IES staff members are rewarded for safe working practices through an annual “Safe Driving Bonus”, quarterly “Shop Safety Bonus” and a “High Season safety bonus” for field technicians.
  • IES Field Technicians have received several awards for going above and beyond while performing work on customer locations. These awards have been provincial, Canadian and North American wide.
  • IES Safety department records and tracks statistics to identify trends and address them before these trends become actionable incidents.
  • IES maintains COR certification in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Alberta
  • IES maintains safety stats on ISNetworld, Safety Sync, ComplyWorks and Avetta. These sites encompass all of our customers safety requirements for verifying IES’s safety program
