The IES Difference
“Seven years ago we recognized the need for unique equipment to accommodate the revolutionary horizontal completions. We are proud to say that we responded and delivered to over 100 oil companies.”
From the inception IES has been committed to not only supplying our clients the best possible equipment, personnel and service but also guaranteeing supply. With your management we have determined how much equipment is required including spare equipment and we actually set aside that equipment with your name on it. On many occasions weeks have gone by that the equipment is not used but it remains on the shelf for you. It is our commitment to supply that provides you the confidence that when required IES can and will deliver. In the past 9 years we have provided our clients specialized equipment for thousands of jobs and not once did we disappoint you.
This is a unique industry, to provide the caliber of service that IES is committed to; this involves a large specialty trained labor force which consequently results in enormous labor costs. We attract a labor force that includes ex rig managers, frac supervisors, coil tubing supervisors etc and in order to secure personnel as such IES does pay a premium including participation in year-end profit sharing. IES continues to diversify into more specialized wellhead equipment that is focused on the horizontal completions. Diversification increases labor utilization by effectively maximizing the employees time. Rather than being available on standby for one or two particular services his time can be better utilized to provide several services. Management expects that efficiency will be increased an additional 4 % in the future.
We continue to work with exotic coatings for our components that are in contact with the frac abrasive fluids. We have already noticed considerable success and expect to see further improvements and efficiency will be increased 5% and we pass these savings on to you.
IES has strategically compiled an assortment of highly experienced personnel including our Engineer who has over 40 years experience in our specialized industry. All senior personnel including the president, vice president and fabricating management are involved and committed on a daily basis continually striving to improve our equipment, procedures, policies, safety program and service.
From the onset we have and continue to demonstrate that we do embrace change; if there is a better and safer piece of equipment, method or procedure we react with speed and go through the process of incorporating it.
We have specific senior personnel (Quality and Technical Support Manager) in our locations that work directly with our technicians who monitor and grade their performance. They also work in partnership with your field representatives constantly communicating the quality of our equipment, service, and safety program and if there are ways to improve upon. All personnel are involved in the annual profit sharing and their compensation is based on and directly reflects their outstanding performance. Additionally our safety personnel also work with our technicians on and off the well site continually monitoring their performance and providing their support.
In the past two years we have initiated a further enhanced training program by selecting two of our best senior technicians and promoting them to Field Training Superintendents. Their responsibility is to travel site to site and ensure that all our technicians are performing their duties in full compliance with IES and our clients' policies.
The stimulation industry is a high risk business and even though the jobs do become repetitive we address each job with the utmost focus and dedication. IES designs and engineers its equipment with a high degree of safety factor. Consequently our equipment has proven to sustain the unexpected like a sudden over pressuring during a pressure test or stimulation treatment. Our independent Engineering firm possesses over 40 years directly in this specialized industry. We employ several Quality Control personnel who work hand in hand with our technicians closely monitoring the equipment and ensuring that our policies and procedures including our regimented preventive maintenance program are strictly adhered to. All our management plays a direct role in all aspects of the operations and fully supports our safety program.
All equipment is thoroughly inspected, repaired and recertified to API specification. All the IES equipment material conforms to NACE sour gas applications and is engineered and manufactured to API specification.
IES is a full service, professional Isolation Tool Company that has set the bar in providing quality and excellence. Four years ago, we recognized a need and an opportunity in the horizontal well completions. We immediately responded and took the initiative to design and manufacture innovative and unique equipment to accommodate the shift to this new revolutionary style of well stimulations. IES has the technical expertise and field personnel to successfully meet the parameters of all our clients' specific job requirements. In the past nine years, we have successfully completed over 50,000 jobs and worked for over 500 oil companies.
Safety is in the forefront in all aspects of our service. We are staffed with in-house personnel an astute Safety Manager, Field Training Superintendents and a Transportation Driver Training Superintendent. The whole safety team works intimately with all our personnel to support, promote and educate all aspects of our Safety, Environmental and Transportation program. Their responsibilities also include participating on job locations where they work hand in hand with you our clients Field Representatives to bring Safety to a whole new level. While on location our safety team works with our technicians to monitor and ensure safety protocols are adhered to. In 2012-2013 our IES safety and training supervisors visited over 500 clients locations. During these safety visits job site assessments were completed. During the job assessment direct hands on training was provided to our people in the areas of safety, the environment, transportation, and operational processes. We have created a 3 stage employee progression plan and totally redefined our new hire orientation processes. The IES management is very closely involved in promoting and managing all aspects of our safety program. This eliminates unnecessary risk to personnel and results in optimum performance; which is cost saving to not only us but our clients as well.
We have reduced our TRIF numbers over the past two years by over 200%, and have increased our near miss reporting. IES has acquired the COR certification since its inception date. Our COR was recently recertified on August 16th, 2013 where we scored a 98%. We believe the key to employee productivity is to keep our employees motivated and safe, which led us to create a new very lucrative added safety bonus program which is paid out quarterly. This has proven to be a huge success, and we are very proud of our current program and how it has evolved.
We fully embrace safety rather than tolerate it which has proven to be our ally in our impeccable safety track record.
Our success in serving our clients is, to a large extent, dependent on the manner in which we treat our employees. We pride ourselves in having the most experienced, fully trained technicians in this specialized industry which is a key ingredient to ultimate field performance. We endeavor to attract and recruit the best people in the industry, and then create a cordial and supportive environment where individuals are able to reach their utmost potential. We encourage employee involvement and recognize that they are an integral part of our operation. Good people are at the heart of our success and ultimately reflected in our quality safe service to you.
Bottom line is, if there is a safer way, no matter what the cost, we make the changes.
IES has demonstrated leadership in providing unique equipment to the industry that has vastly improved job efficiency and reduced well completion costs. We have worked hand in hand with a multitude of oil companies in fulfilling all their requirements for specialized equipment such as: Isolation Tools, Coil Headers, Packer Ball Catchers, Remote Control Valves, high rate Buffalo Heads, Fracheads, Wellhead DSA system and the proven and reliable XL5 Ball Launcher. We expanded the ball capacity of the XL5 to the XL17 that allows up to 17 balls to be loaded and deployed without reloading. We can also stack above the XL17 to accommodate the increased stages. We also have the capacity to deploy balls as large as 4.75 inches.
Another improvement is the “screened deflector” Coil Header that eliminates the need to use the main deflector. The advantage is that the frachead maintains “full bore” which does not obstruct the down hole equipment as it passes. Additionally the screens contain and prevent undesirable debris from being pumped down hole that have been known to compromise the mechanism of the packers like the mongoose system. The screened units have been tested at rates up to 12 M3/min without a problem.
We now have 8 Grease Trailers fully self-contained to provide valve lubrication on site and Torque units upon request. These units have been well received by your consultants and proven to be very efficient and cost saving to Our clients. Our Torque units will also have chart confirmation for each nut and bolt.
THE latest is we expect to provide Pressure Pump Units by February 1. These units will be capable of pressure testing the Frachead assembly bottom up on location, hold pressure on the annulus and also provide equalizing pressure and packer ball displacement for our Ball Launchers. In essence we will eliminate the need for a C&A or a normal Pressure Pumper on location at a significant saving to our clients.
At IES we pride ourselves in being in the forefront of embracing problems, doing our research and engineering and offering solutions. This partnership has proven to save our clients substantial dollars in that past.
We have the full support staff including the best safety team in the industry that has set the bar in safety.
The IES management and technical staff continually strive to live up to our motto, “Service has been redefined”.This is reflected in our sensitivity to price without compromising safety and quality service.
